Apr. 27, 2012. Grave of George Washington Bush (d. 1863) and Isabella Bush (d. 1866), Union Cemetery, Tumwater. The Bushes were among the party that founded the first American settlement in Washington.

"Bush was a successful farmer in Missouri, but as a free African American in a slave state, he faced increasing discrimination and decided to move west."
