Independent comix
The orange on the manhole cover
Feb. 17, 2012. Olympia. I'm sure there's quite the story behind this, whatever it is. I just found it this way.
Crumbling ornate work, along the Deschutes
Tumwater bridge over the Deschutes
Feb. 15, 2013. Capitol Blvd., once served as the main freeway before I-5. Defunct Olympia Beer bottling plant in the background.
South Gateway to the Puget Sound Country and the Olympic Peninsula
Derelict bottling and historic sign
Feb. 15, 2013. This Tumwater historic sign provides a scenic view of the former bottling area of the defunct Olympia Brewing Company. The Deschutes River is below.
Kenneth Callahan mural
Feb. 15, 2013. Mural (created ca. 1958-1959) by Kenneth Callahan in the former "Washington Room" of the Washington State Library, now apparently a space used for storage and meetings. The mural surrounds the entire room and presents a visual narrative of Washington State history.
The Washington State Library was moved from the Capitol Campus in Olympia to a business park in Tumwater in 2001.

Secret fort?
Feb. 14, 2012. It looks like a WWII relic, but this is next to a scuzzy retaining pond in Olympia's west side.
